Nautical Letterpress Wedding Invitations

We had the pleasure of working with Ashton Events on Michelle + Gregory’s beautiful letterpress Save the Date and wedding invitations. This couple celebrated their big day at the Carlouel Yacht Club, and their wish was to add a whimsical and vintage design with “beach-y” details without being overly nautical. To bring their vision to life for the Save-the-Dates, we created a design displaying a mixed of vintage and playful fonts and incorporated our hand-drawn vintage octopus to give the design a fun, seaside feel. (We also incorporated a watercolor drawing of the venue.) For the wedding invitations, we created an elegant and modern design with subtle organic elements. The gold foil and letterpress wording printed on cotton paper gave these invites the classy and organic feel they were looking for. To further incorporate more details of the wedding – the vintage octopus and white-washed wood – we duplexed each invite using a wood-grain paper stock and carried the octopus design onto the wax seal displayed on the navy envelopes. We really love how these nautical letterpress wedding invitations and Save-the-Dates feature so many details unique to their wedding style!
