This is a photo of me about a week ago.  It’s a photo of me on the top of a parking garage shouting from the roof – tops with excitement. That day was the day that I leaped. I stepped back and I ran… I ran so fast off a huge cliff of faith and I leaped. I leaped into my ideal life. For some of you who don’t know I had a day job while working my business. It was a good job.. a job I enjoyed with people I enjoyed working with. A year and half ago I was all set to climb that corporate ladder and then everything switched. I had an idea of starting a business where I could provide custom designed invitations that incorporated hand drawn elements. The idea of Art Meets Paper. Me the paper person, my husband Pat the art person. The business evolved and started to incorporate both of our passions. We bought a letterpress and feel in love with the process of pressing each individual paper. We feel in love with typography, the feel of luxurious paper and found our own design style. What started with an idea and a dream became a successful business that we are so passionate about. A business that is evolving because we are evolving.

It was time to take a leap. It was time to give up our comfort and security and follow our dreams. It was time to start owning our life. This week was the first week that I worked my business full time and started living my ideal life. A life where I am constantly inspired, I am engaged, I am challenged, I am pushed to my limits, I am creative, I am free to make the choices that are right for my family and my business. This is just the start of my journey.

We are working on a blog redesign that will hopefully be live in the next couple of weeks. The blog will be catalogue our journey as an almost thirty-something couple living our life with passion and purpose and building a business we love, showcasing what’s going on in our studio and exploring and finding inspiration around the world around us. I hope you will journey along with us.

Now check out my friend Angie’s journey on her blog.
