How is it already December? This year has just flown by and I can’t believe its already been months since we had Harlow’s 1st birthday party and I just had to share all the special details from her party and of course the invitations!

Harlow was born in the hot summer month of August, so for her birthday party, I wanted to go for a Florida summer party complete with lots of flamingos, pineapples and lots and lots of pinks and yellows. We decided to do a little backyard party which I was a little hesitant on since its so hot in Florida but it actually wasn’t too bad.

Harlow started walking 2 weeks before her party, and she sure was happy to be able to walk and say hi to all her guests. Her cute little romper was hand made by Lil Liza Lou.

Baby-girl 1st birthday partyFor her 1st birthday party invitations, we invited the guest to “Flamingle” with the birthday girl. I did a watercolor drawing with a flamingo in a party hat on one side and then duplex-ed the invitation and personalized our “Confetti” design by changing up the fonts, and printed it in gold foil on a beautiful pink card stock. I also put the cute little Flamingo on some custom stamps to complete the look.

For her party, I did a lot of DIY projects. I found a tutorial on make a fringe backdrop here  and did this the backdrop on her cake table and behind her highchair for her cake eating. I also made the tassel fringe hanging from the bar card and her high chair (you can find the tutorial here).

For the food, I went with a theme of all her favorite foods and created little party bites out of them.

Our friends at Hands on Sweets made the beautiful, and delicious cookies…soo0 yummy!

For her party decor, since it was a backyard party I went a little crazy. I made each sign for all the little yard games like Jenga, flamingo ring toss and her balloon & ball pit. Harlow loved playing in the ball pit with her little besties. It was such a great time to hang out with our family and friends and celebrate our little “H” turning one and for us surviving the first year of parenthood.
