Do you remember when you were a little kid and you use to always write notes back and forth to your friends. Do you still have them? I do. Every now and again I will go through my memory box and read all the old notes exchanged between my friends and I starting in elementary school all the way up through college. I even came across notes my roommates would leave on my desk (usually written on sticky notes) just now and again at random times saying “You are the Best!” I loved those notes. I remember how much those notes completely lifted my day and brought an instant smile on my face. The notes always seemed to come at the most randomest time but just when I needed a little note of encouragement or love the most.
There really is something to be said about a hand written note. Those notes always made me feel loved, appreciated, like you can do anything but more importantly you feel like you have a great friend who you can turn to at any time. Now that we are all living in different areas of the country, we don’t get to see each other as often as I would like. It is always good to catch up on the phone or through email but printing out and saving emails just isn’t the same as keeping a cherished note from your friends. So for the next two week I want honor my girlfriends and send them some hand written love and tell them just how special they are (never mind the fact that they are probably reading this… I want them to have notes to look back on in 20 years to remember this chapter in our lives).
