It was such a treat to work with Katie and Julien on their invitation suite. I have known Katie for several years, we actually worked at Orlando Ballet several years ago. She was a dancer and I worked in the marketing department promoting all her shows. When she came to me about her swan inspired invitation ideas I was so excited to work with her on them. They wanted to incorporate a swan design since Julien had proposed to her on Lake Eola. If you don’t know Lake Eola, its located in Orlando and is known for their beautiful swans in the lake. They even have a swan boat you can take on the lake (that was actually one of Pat and I’s first dates). We created several different design concepts incorporating hand drawn swans. Katie loved the idea of the monogram with its clean feel and the two swans touching to form a heart. But, after seeing our designs their creative juices started flowing and Julien decided he wanted to try his hand drawing the swans. Of course we said “SURE”, we love when bride and groom brings their own artistic talents to the table. I thought he did an awesome job! We mounted the invitation suite on a green pearl paper and backed it onto a navy pearl pocket-fold. To close the pocket-fold we added their swan monogram to a tag. One of the things I love most about custom design is that it is so personal to the couple. I love how each of Katie and Julien’s guests will get something so personal of the couple including a piece of Julien’s art.
