We are back from a long weekend in Mexico celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary. It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since we got married. It was great to be able to end the year and start our second year of marriage just like we started our first year… traveling.  Pat and I love to travel, we love experiencing a new culture through its food, its culture and its land.  We are so inspired by the beauty of the land (since we live in Florida a relatively flat state – we are pretty much awed by all types of landscapes) and the cultural identity of each new place we travel. Even though it was a long weekend it was the perfect time to relax and slow our pace down (since we are generally going about a mile a minute). We had time to talk about the business, brainstorm and sort of regroup our thoughts and goals as to where we want to take the business for the remainder of the year.

Here are some photos of our renewal in Mexico…

Mexico

We decided for each anniversary we would take the time to escape the everyday and travel to a new destination. Since most of our money would go towards our anniversary trip we decided to get creative with our presents for each other. Since I am a sucker for traditions I thought it would be fun if we followed the traditional wedding anniversary gift giving and what do you know but the first anniversary gift is PAPER. How perfect for us! We had a lot of fun getting creative with this one… I made Pat a hand crafted card and a custom illustration. I also got him a subscription to his favorite magazine and National Geographic book he has been wanting. I got a beautifullllll painting of Santorini, Greece (where we honeymooned). It is soo beautiful … I LOVED Greece and can’t wait to go back. I also got a couple other painting to hang around the studio and a couple subscriptions to my favorite magazines.
