Preferably, you wedding invitations should be in the mail eight weeks (2 months) before your wedding date. If your wedding date is around the holidays, or you are having a destination wedding, then you should mail your invitations 12 weeks (3 months) before your wedding date. This gives your guests plenty of time to plan for your big day – particularly the ones coming from afar. Sending your invitations on time also allows you to make the rsvp date earlier (about 4-3 weeks before the wedding) so you can get a final head count and plan accordingly.
Now that you know the mailing timeline for your invitations, it is time to answer the big questions asked by so many brides…when should I order my wedding invitations?
If you are looking for a completely custom design, ideally you want to start ordering your invitations 9-12 weeks before the mailing date. If you just want to personalize any designs featured in our Design Bar, then the turn around time will be quicker – about 7-8 weeks before your mailing date. This will give us time to create your design, make any revisions, print it, and ship it if you are an out-of-town bride
