Hi friends!

Happy hump day! I hope everyone is having a good week thus far! It was my birthday this past weekend and I am still playing catch up from “playing” all weekend. This birthday has been quite an eye opener for me. Although it’s not a milestone birthday, it is my last year in my twenties… that’s right the big 2.9.! Every year around my birthday, I start to reflect on the previous year, what did we accomplish and what do we want to accomplish next year.

This weekend was spent full of celebration surrounded by family and friends. We kicked off the weekend by going dancing. I had some of my best friends around and it was great to let loose, have a couple drinks and dance the night away. The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating with family and friends at a wedding and barbeque at our place. Pat set up an amazing hot dog bar, one of my favorite foods.

After our out of town guests left, Pat and I had a chance to have a quite, delicious dinner at Ceviche (one of my all time favorite restaurants) and we got to talking about what do we want to accomplish before our thirties and what do we want to accomplish in our last year of our twenties. It made me think about the day I graduated from college, I remember thinking to myself, “okay Alicia your entire life you have always had big dreams, NOW it’s up to YOU to make those dreams happen”. Of course in those past 5 years my goals have changed quite a bit and even my passions have changed in a sense. But it made me think, what do I want 29 year old Alicia to look like.

This year, I want to step outside of my comfort zone, I want to challenge myself in a way I have never challenged myself, I want to look my fears in the eye and conquer them, I want to truly be authentic to who I am, I want to find my voice and harness my passion and grow my business. I want to fully embrace my arch of creativity and surround myself with people and things that inspire, empower and challenge me. I want to holistically own my life, live my dream and make things happen for myself and my business!

This year, the 29 year old Alicia will be genuine, passionate, fearless, and authentic. It’s only been a couple days since I have been 29 and so far it’s been filled with lots of love, making new memories, good food, creating, laughing and self reflection. I hope the rest of the year is filled with more of the same.
