Love What You Do

Yay! It’s Monday! The beginning of a new week with lots of new opportunities ahead! Here at A&P Designs, we are all working hard like busy bees, our printing press has been going non-stop which feels like 1,000 miles per hour (might be a bit of an exaggeration but it sure feels like that – I am sure Pat can attest  :))!

This month is a big month for us. We are taking our small business to the next level. We have been dreaming up, designing and printing a beautiful collection of letterpress wedding invitations for some time now and we are finally ready to take it wholesale and debate it at the National Stationery Show! This is something we have been dreaming of and praying on for years.

Getting to this point has not being easy. There have been many times when balancing life as a creative entrepreneur, boss, wife, mommy, friend, daughter has been challenging, but it has been such a rewarding journey, full of spiritual and emotional growth that honestly, I would not trade it for anything! At the end of the day, I love what I do. Love and passion behind your commitment will take you further than you can imagine and life is so much richer when you love what you do!

Steve Jobs beautifully expressed this in his famous Stanford Commencement Speech:

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

I hope that you are encouraged to do (or find) that one thing you love doing.
