Many people do not reach their potential because of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of what others may think, fear of not being talented enough…fear, fear, fear!! The list goes on! Fear is a powerful emotion that paralyzes us from moving forward, keeps us busy thinking too much about ourselves, and distracts us from our purpose by magnifying our weaknesses. Fear, ultimately leads us to living an unfulfilled life, robbing us from joy, and preventing us from using our God-given gifts to bless others.

Today, I want to encourage you to be brave and to take courage! It doesn’t matter where you are in life, just start where you are at! It doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the capital or knowledge, just use what you have, and do what you can to the best of your ability! The rest will come together as a result of your hard work and dedication to your dream. Utilizing your talents will not only bring you fulfillment, but most importantly, your gifts will bless others, which in return will bring more fulfillment – it is a never ending cycle of joy! 🙂

Motivational Monday - Start Where You Are

Here is a anecdote about Mother Teresa’s life that I believe will inspire you. Many of us know the great things she did, but not many of us know about her humble beginnings. When Mother Teresa first moved to India to start her journey as a missionary, she rented a small hovel in the slums of Calcutta where she saw many children living in extremely poor conditions. She had to figure out how to live in the street without the safety and comfort of her convent. Holding on to her calling of reaching to the needy, she began by first teaching the children of the slums (a profession she knew very well). Though she had no proper equipment, she made use of what was available – writing in the dirt! As she continued to use her talents, the word about her work spread, more help and resources came, and eventually her ministry grew beyond imagination!

So as you go on this week living life and facing obstacles, don’t focus on what you don’t have, but instead, make the most of what you do have! Remember, doing what you love and living your dream is not just for you, it is for a cause bigger than yourself: to bless and inspire others to live a better life!
